Rangers RAP – 4/12/2024

December 5, 2024

As we move into December, and another year comes to an end, we would like to wish all our members and friends the happiest and healthiest of festive seasons! We hope everyone finds time to spend with family and friends over Christmas and New Year and that we can all consider those less fortunate than us and consider contributing to community groups who seek to support those in need.

Earlier this month we held our AGM and saw a new Committee voted in. Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM and showed their support for the Club and the Committee. The 2025 Chatswood Rangers Committee are…

President : Joe Butler

Vice President : Ross Anastasi

Treasurer : Wes Smith

Secretary : Michelle King

with our Coordinators being…

Junior Netball : Janine Jones (also on the Committee)

Junior Football : Nick Jenkinson (also on the Committee)

Senior Netball : Aly Richards

Senior Football : Rich Kamper

Of course the Committee alone can not do everything that is required to run the Club so we ask those of you who are interested in getting involved to reach out to the Coordinators and let them know they can rely on you when needed.

A highlight of the AGM and Community Awards, that preceded the AGM, was Michelle King being voted in as a Life Member of Chatswood Rangers. Michelle has served the Club as Secretary, Registrar and Administrator for many years and continues to be the engine that runs the Club!

We also said a huge Rangers THANK YOU to two special members of our community for their efforts in supporting the Club as volunteers.

Gretchen Atkins has taken on the role of Football Referee Coordinator and led the way in encouraging a wave of young referees, including her two sons, to take up refereeing. Gretchen herself has joined the ranks of the referees and is an inspiration to all players and members of the Club to get involved and supporting our Club and the NSFA in ensuring matches are covered with official referees. Thank you Gretchen!

Jeremy Hicks is always available to assist with grounds setup, pack away and maintenance, supporting our many BBQs and events, getting involved with equipment storage and maintenance, and just being an all-round amazing member of the Club and Community! Jeremy and his sons Ethan and Sam play for the Club and we hope to see all three of them on the field together some time in 2025. Thank you Jeremy for all that you do for Rangers!

See you all in 2025!

Joe

JUNIOR FOOTBALL

Planning is well underway for the 2025 season.  New equipment has arrived and the trials for our Development Programs have been carried out and teams are forming.

Registrations for the 2025 season will open mid-January and we look forward to welcoming members back for the new season.

We will be holding a ‘Community Open Day / Come and Try Day’ in February 2025 for all members to reconnect with their teammates and have a social game of football, along with BBQ and activities.  This will also be a great chance for new players to come and see what Rangers is all about. We will update once we have a date locked in.

For those players in the Development Programs (JDL, SL, DL) we will be holding a ‘meet your team day’ in February, with games, information, activities and a BBQ.  We will update once we have a date locked in.

Our Mini-Roos & Junior Football Academies has been in full swing and a great success for our flagship off-season program.  We look forward to doing more of this next year.  I’m sure the kids will benefit from this extra training as they restart the season.

Vision Holiday Camps

Our coaching partners, Vision Football, are running a 1-day camp on 19th December and will run another camp in January. If you are interested in signing up, head to their website for full details and registrations links. Use code CRFC10 to get 10% OFF!

Thanks in advance for your support!⚽💙

We hope you will join us again next year.  We would also love to welcome new players and their families to Chatswood Rangers in 2025, so please spread the word and encourage your friends to join us.

Umpiring in 2025

Congratulations once again to the Rangers Umpires who either started or continued their umpiring journey in 2024.  Umpiring Assessments in 2024 for Rangers umpires resulted in eight NSNA umpiring levels and one national C badge being awarded.

Players who are interested in umpiring can start in the year they turn 12 years old.  Information about umpiring can be found HERE on the NSNA website.  Further information and expressions of interest will be sent to all eligible Rangers players early in 2025.

See you on the courts!
