Rangers RAP – 19/08/2025

August 19, 2025

Despite some wetter weather recently…spirits have remained high across the Club with everyone approaching the end of our netball and football seasons. Well done to all teams for their efforts and performances this season and best of luck to those of you who are competing in finals series or continue with Cup matches. We love to share your efforts and news so please send photos and news items to our coordinators to post and share with our community.

The end of season remains a busy time for managers, coaches and other volunteers so please ensure we all support them however we can and ensure they are able to finish the season without any loose ends. Thank you to all our Committee members and volunteers for your efforts this season 💙

We hope everyone has has an enjoyable season at Rangers and look forward to seeing you during the off-season and in the new year as we fire up the engines again for season 2026. Keep an eye on your emails, our website and Facebook pages for continued news and updates.

Reach out if there is any way we can help. ⚽💙

Congratulations everyone, you’ve nearly made it to the end of the season!

Well done to all our teams for your efforts this season. We wish you all the best for your final matches and if you are playing in any finals then best of luck. Thank you to everyone involved in supporting our players and teams this season...it was a real TEAM EFFORT!

MiniRoos Gala day (U6 – U11 community)

This will be held on the weekend of 23rd and 24th August and will be the last games of the season for this age group.  Keep an eye on Dribl for final details.

Under 6 – Under 11 End of Season Fun morning

We will be holding a fun morning at Thomson Park on Saturday 6th September from 9am – 12pm.  We will have jumping castles, bbq and other activities for the teams.  It will also be an opportunity for the managers to present the trophies to the players.  These will be available for collection on the day of the event and have been ordered already.  I would really love to have some volunteers for set up, pack down and manning the BBQ…would be great if it was newbie volunteers to give the usual volunteering people a break.

Summer Training Program

Like last year, Rangers will be running a summer training programmed for those kids 5 years old to 11 years old who are interested in continuing their training.  We will be holding twice weekly sessions at Thomson Park from Tuesday 16th September through to Thursday 11th December.  You can book this programme from the Rangers Online Shop.

JDL | GJDL | Super League | Diamond League

This year the NSFA are restricting clubs to a fixed trial period to ensure competitiveness and fairness across the clubs.  That means trials can only be held from 1st November to 16th November.  Rangers will be publishing its schedule in early September and opening up its EOI process then.

Retention letters for age groups for the 2026 season will be sent to selected players in the first week of September, again this is to align with the NSFA’s requirements.

All information about the Rangers Development Program for 2026 will be posted on the website in September.

RESPECT

Whilst we all want to see the players and teams succeed, we need to be respectful of our coaches, the referees and those running the lines.  Without these people, we don’t have games.

Please ensure all spectators are on the opposite side of the field to our team coach and manager.  This is a dedicated ‘technical zone’ for the teams, coach, managers and officials only.

Please see below example of where supporters are not allowed to stand at CHS for modified fields on game days. For full-sized matches, only players, coaches and managers should be in the technical area with all other spectators on the opposite side of the field.

Its great to shout words of encouragement, but please leave it to the coaches to give instructions to players.  As a player, there is nothing worse than having 20 odd people shouting instructions at you during a game.

Around the Grounds

The inaugural Girls JDL Rangers team excelled in the first year of the competition. Hopefully it inspires more girls and parents to choose football. We will be trialling for Under 10’s and Under 11’s next season.

A huge effort by our U18-SL team this week, beating North Sydney 2-1 to win their semi-final in the President's Shield! ⚽️🤩
The final is scheduled for 9am on the 31/08/2025 at Charles Bean Oval.
Good luck boys!! 💙💙💙

It's always great to get team photos sent in from parents and players. We will select the best/funniest ones to put in the RAP.

Any enquiries, please email me on juniorfootball@chatswoodranger.com.au.

As always, we are looking for volunteers to help run the club…don’t be afraid to contact me.

Thanks in advance for your support!⚽💙

SENIOR FOOTBALL

Best of luck to all our teams in their last matches of the season and for those who continue into finals. We have had a great season with several new teams joining us in the Women's leagues and also the Men's O35 Div 1...with lots of fun both on and off the field.

It was a tight finish to the season for our Men's Premier League squad but they have done enough to maintain their spot for next season and will be looking to strengthen in the off-season. Well done to coach Paul Turnell and his team and to all the players who stepped up from Div 2 last season to compete in a very tough league.

Our new MO35-1 team continues to impress as they secured the title last week with a massive 11-1 win over Asquith. The lads play the semi-final of the Rick Close Cup this week and also have the O35-1 semi-finals coming up along with Champions of Champions kicking off after the season ends! Well done team!!

Seniors will have an end of season get together in September to hand out awards and socialise as a Club...look out for details of that event via your team mangers.

Cheers!

Get ready for finals!

Junior, Intermediate and Senior teams completed their final round of games for the Winter Competition this weekend. Chatswood Rangers have 9 teams in the Junior Competition (ages 10 – 15), 1 team in the Intermediate competition and 5 teams in the Senior Competition. For a club of our size, Rangers has finished strong with 6 teams moving through to finals.

Congratulations to the teams who have progressed into the Finals Series!

💙 Rangers 14 (10C)

💙 Rangers 11 (12D)

💙 Ranger 08 (13D)

💙 Rangers 07 (15C)

💙 Rangers 01 (Snr B3)

💙 Rangers 03 (Snr C2)

As we head into the finals, we’d like to remind all parents and spectators that our focus is on creating a supportive and positive environment for every player. These games are an opportunity for our players to showcase their skills, teamwork, and love of netball. We ask that you cheer respectfully, encourage all players, and leave coaching and umpiring to the appointed officials. Negative comments, arguing with umpires, or directing criticism at players, coaches, or other spectators will not be tolerated. Let’s work together to model good sportsmanship and ensure the finals are a fun, fair, and memorable experience for everyone involved.

NetSetGo Gala Day – Sunday 24 Aug 2025

Chatswood Rangers has a great reputation for developing skilled, confident netball umpires, which we have continued to demonstrate this year. Thank you to Alice McDermid and Claudia Coffey, Junior & Senior Umpire Convenors for coordinating and delivering a very successful umpire program. Thanks also to Di Osborne for supporting our Convenors with delivering umpire training on Wednesday evenings, and to all of our experienced umpires who took part in mentoring this year.

Junior Presentation Day – 20 Sept 2025

All NetSetGo and Junior netball teams are invited to attend the Junior Presentation Day to celebrate the achievements of our players, coaches, umpires, managers and club officials. Please save the date and look out for details in your inbox.

Seniors Celebrate the End of the Season

Since there are no trophies or awards for Intermediate and Senior players, we encourage you to get together to celebrate your efforts in the NSNA Winter Competition. We had a lot of new seniors this year, many who have not played since high school! Great effort ladies!

Want to keep playing? Upcoming non-club competition

The NSNA have a number of non-club competitions that run throughout the year. For players 9 and older, the Twilight Spring Competition will be held in Term 4.
