Rangers RAP – 14/10/2024

October 15, 2024

‘What a season it was’ is exactly right! Chatswood Rangers had an amazing 2024 season across junior and senior netball and football divisions. We played amazing matches, performed with great commitment and dedication to our teams, worked hard at training, and had an amazing time off the fields and courts too!

Thank you to everyone involved across the season and to those of you who continue to be involved in the off-season when everything gets prepared and in place for 2025.

With the end of a year comes an AGM and ours is booked in for Monday 18th November 7:30pm at the Longueville Bowling Club. We invite all members and friends of the Club to participate in the AGM, hear about the year that was and plans we have for 2025. We also invite nominations for Committee members and volunteers to support the Club in a number of areas. Full details of the AGM can be found on the Club website.

This year, in addition to the AGM, we will be holding a Community Awards event from 6:30pm prior to the AGM. We will recognise the effort of some of our volunteers and Club members who have gone above and beyond to ensure Rangers is such a great place to play football and netball. If you would like to nominate a volunteer, please let one of the football or netball coordinators know.

I hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather and still participating in Summer versions of football and netball, as well as other Summer Sports. Season 2025 is just around the corner and many of our teams are already preparing to run trials and ‘come and try’ events, so look out for those notices in the RAP, via email and on our Socials.

Also, take a look below at our amazing new sponsor and fitness partner and the unbelievable deal they have for us!

What a wonderful season we had for junior netball in 2024!  All players in our junior competition teams have shown incredible improvement throughout the season. Five of our eight junior teams went through to finals rounds.

Congratulations to U11C for winning the grand final and taking out the title of Champions!!

Congratulations also to all of our finalists: 15D making it through to semi-finals, and 10D, 11E, 12D who all made the grand finals and finished as Runners Up!!

Presentation Day was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with our teammates and coaches and to celebrate our achievements over the winter season. Congratulations to our award recipients who’ve all worked very hard to develop their skills in coaching, umpiring and playing netball.

Rangers are eager to rebuild out Female Football Program at Rangers in 2025 and to get the ball rolling, we are inviting all G18 and All-Age players to start some pre-season sessions. More details will follow via email and on Facebook, but this will be an opportunity for current players, new players and those just looking to see if football is for them, to get together and start planning for the 2025 season.
We are also looking to make Female Football at Rangers even more enticing, but subsidising registration costs and build a coaching program that recognises the specific needs of our female players from juniors right through to seniors.
If you are interested in being part of the Female Football Committee, please reach so you can help Rangers start kicking goals with all our amazing female footballers!

What a great, if somewhat wet season we’ve had. Congratulations to Rangers 02 who made it through to the Grand Finals and finished as Runners Up after being narrowly beaten in a very close game. It’s great to see some our senior players are continuing to play netball in the NSNA Twilight competition which starts this week. Good luck and enjoy the spring comp. I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their support over the last 3 years that I have been Senior Netball Secretary for Chatswood Rangers.  I am now stepping down as Secretary but will be leaving you in the very capable hands of Aly Richards who has kindly agreed to take on this role. I will continue to be involved with Chatswood Rangers in 2025 and I hope to see you all return next year for another season. Christy seniornetball@chatswoodrangers.com.au
