It has been another massive year for Chatswood Rangers with so many teams across netball and football enjoying a great season together despite the weather doing its best to dampen the fun.

All the work on and off the field does not just happen, it takes hours and hours of time and effort from our volunteer Committee members, team managers and coordinators and other volunteers across the Club. So, on behalf of all of Chatswood Rangers, I would like to extend a HUG RANGERS THANK YOU to all of you who helped make 2024 another amazing year for our members. Special thanks to the Executive and Management Committee members for taking on their roles and giving up so much of their time to run each section of the Club.

With the above in mind, our AGM is currently scheduled for Monday 18th November and will be an opportunity for new volunteers to step forward and play a role in the running of the Club in 2025 and beyond. We will share more details of this closer to the time but if you are interested in taking on one of the formal roles in the Club, or supporting the Coordinators in the work they do, then please reach out and have a chat.

Kit Return Day - 14th September at Storage King, 9am -11am Team managers (or a team volunteer) return the team kit bag and equipment, including cleaned game shirts for Dev Squads & U12-U18 teams. We seek volunteers to receive and sort the equipment and assist with setup and pack away. Let us know if you or any of your team can assist us at any of these times 8:30-9:30, 9:30-10:30, 10:30-11:30 (please email me if you can). Chatswood Rangers Fun Day Success It was great to see so many players and families at our end of season Fun Day at Thomson Oval. Jumping castle, face painting, BBQ and football games galore keep everyone busy. Thank you to those that came down and helped with set up and pack down for the event. Without volunteers, these events don’t happen. Hopefully we will see more volunteers stepping up for the 2025 season.

Holiday Camps October School Holiday Camps are being run at Chatswood High School… Week 1 – Vision Football Camp 1-3 Oct We have partnered with Vision Football to bring back a Chatswood Rangers Holiday Program! Both ‘social’ and ‘elite’ programs will run at Chatswood High School 1st-3rd October. Summer Football Academy Our Mini-Roos Academy at Thomson Park is now full. We still have availability for the 12-14 year old age group at Chatswood High School so book your place if you are looking to continue your training in the Summer. https://chatswoodrangers.com.au/shop/

It was great to get the Academy Program started this week and to be back on Thomson Park. A reminder to all parents/carers, please ensure you stay off the playing field while training is on, only players, coaches and Rangers officials should be on the pitch during the sessions. If you are staying to watch, please stay on the blue running track or sandstone seating area at the end of the pitch - a good chance to catch up with other parents.

2025 Development Team Trials (All Ages) Trials for our 2025 Development teams (including JDL, Super League and Diamond League) have been scheduled for the 9/10, 16/17 and 23/24 November . We are still finalising details for player trials across all age groups from Under 8 to Under 18 and look forward to sharing those details and taking registrations from next week.

Chatswood Rangers awarded NSNA Junior Club Champions 2024!

What a spectacular season our Junior Netball teams have had this year (despite the rain). On Saturday, Chatswood Rangers was awarded the NSNA Junior Club Champions based on overall points scored across all junior teams. We tied for points with Monte who were joint Champions.

The calculation includes game points and statistics, number of teams through to finals & outcomes of finals, and umpire levels achieved. This is a fantastic achievement for Rangers and a testament to the efforts that Lara & Alice, our Coaching and Umpire Convenors have put in to support development of our coaches, umpires & players, and of course the hard work of all of our coaches, managers, umpires and players throughout the season.

Well done everyone!

Congratulations also to Zara Jones who was awarded the Joe Hockey Encouragement Award for her contribution to netball at both Club and Association level for playing, coaching and umpiring, including umpiring for representative carnivals and achieving her Umpires National C Badge this year.

I look forward to seeing everyone at Junior Netball Presentation Day on Sunday 22 September.
