Rangers RAP – 08/02/2025

February 8, 2025

I hope everyone has enjoyed the start of 2025 and also made the most of the Lunar New Year celebrations which always create such a nice atmosphere around Chatswood. It is also a great reminder of how multicultural our community is and how lucky we are as Australians to live in such a diverse and accepting society. Chatswood Rangers celebrates all cultures and beliefs and prides itself on promoting respect and care for everyone in our community.

The 2025 Football and Netball Seasons are rapidly approaching and I am sure you are all looking forward to getting back on the fields and courts as soon as possible. Check out the messages below from the Football and Netball Coordinators and visit the Club website to register and order uniform items.

A HUGE RANGERS THANK YOU to the 2025 Football and Netball Coordinators and Executive Committee for committing to these roles and for all the time and effort they ave already put into getting ready for the season. Please reach out and offer your support to the Coordinators as they definitely appreciate any help they can get.

From the Junior Football Coordinator...

The Junior Football Committee have been busy since the end of the 2024 season with planning for the Winter 2025 Season.

As per my email before Christmas, registrations are now open for players (new and old), managers and coaches.  We encourage you to reconnect with your team mates and get the ⚽ rolling in preparation for training commencing late March for Community Teams and commencing the week of 1th Feb for Development Teams.

Please encourage your friends, family and anyone you meet, to consider playing football at Rangers and forming a school or friendship team, or we can place players in a team.

To get everyone back into the footballing mood, we are holding an Open Day at Chatswood High School on Saturday 15th February from 9am to 12pm. This event serves as a ‘Junior Football Information Session' with Committee members available to help with inquiries, but also a 'Come and Try Football’ opportunity for 6 to 12 year olds.

The Open Day will be a great opportunity for returning members to reconnect with their teammates and have a social game of football, along with BBQ, jumping castle and other football activities. Some of our sponsors and partners will also be there so you could even win a prize! 🤩

More details about the Open Day are found below and on the Rangers website. It is open to everyone so please invites friends and family and help make the event an amazing way to start the football season.

If you are able to give some of your time to help at the Open Day, even if its just for an hour, please email me on juniorfootball@chatswoodranger.com.au. It would be great to see more community involvement and volunteering at Rangers events this year…many hands make light work and help build a community!

Thanks in advance for your support!⚽💙

From the Senior Football Coordinator...

Wow! Where did the break go? Senior Football @Rangers is gearing up for it's biggest season on record. We look forward to the Senior Men's return to the Premier League...a huge achievement but also a huge challenge. The team has already started training and we will get a report from them for the next RAP. We have signed up a new O35 Division 1 team (previously playing for Mosman) who have been one of the states top teams in the age group for the last few years...no pressure but we can't wait to see them performing in the Rangers BLUE & WHITE! After a couple of years with declining number in the Women's side of the competition, the off-season has seen interest from a number of past Rangers players and it looks like we will be fielding one or two Women's All Age teams - YEY! Women's and Girls football is one of the Club's priorities this year so we are off to a good start. Now we are searching for a motivated Female Football Coordinator to help lead the the development of a strong female program. It is also exciting to see players from our 2024 U18-3 Winners stepping up into Senior Football and continuing their journey with Rangers. Another topic for an upcoming RAP! So we need players to get registered as soon as possible so we can form teams, organise kits and equipment, get training and trial matches sorted, and so on. All details for registering are on the Club website so please get that completed in the next two weeks to help reduce the burden on our Committee and Administrators. I can't wait to see may of you at the Opening Night at the Great Northern - word is their new upstairs function rooms will be open and we will be testing it out! Cheers and see you on the field soon!
